April!!

Gearing up for baseball season!

IMG_3589

Wearing one of Joseph’s sweatshirts and boots, plus the pink leggings.  Kills me.

More wrestling…

Getting a pin!!

IMG_3602

Just after holding his hand up in victory.  I never seem to be able to get the right timing to document that.

Coach consulting.  This was a good day for Joseph and I think having the coach-- who is AWESOME in such a calm but fun, respectful and hardworking way—on his mat really helped Joseph.

IMG_3611

Of course it also helped that he had a smaller bracket (less opponents) this time.

Definitely was a happy way to end the season.  Well, for us at least.  I made the mistake of striking up a conversation with a guy sitting near me.  Ends up he was one of the other kids dads and he wasn’t so happy.  Kept saying Joseph looked too big for the bracket (they choose opponents based on weight not age, experience, or anything else) but he wasn’t.  Though I do know how he feels because I have been in his position many times.

Plus a visit to the coach’s farm on the way home!

Then we colored eggs and made a bigggggg mess.

Apparently these pictures skip all over.  Here she is enjoying her Easter gift.

And finding eggs!

So cute.

Our little chocolate Easter nests we made ;-)

Opening his basket.

Back to the egg dyeing.  We pulled out all the stops.  The food coloring and shaving cream mixture was supposed to make the eggs swirly colored.  It didn’t really work, but they both enjoyed it. I let them get all creative.  Someone happened to stop by during this extravaganza though and probably thought we were a little crazy.

Opening her basket.

Looking for eggs at Grandma and Grandpa’s.

Trying to get them both to pose with their baskets didn’t really work out.

IMG_3691

More egg dying.

IMG_3699

She got playdough in her basket and it was a HUGE hit.

She wants to be a reader just like her brother!

Finishing syrup!

A bingo fundraiser at our school.  The boys were VERY intense.  Funny thing was after 15 rounds without any wins I sent them outside to play, because I thought all the losing was upsetting them too much.  And I won the next round.

IMG_3733IMG_3734

A pancake breakfast put on by the children of the church (basically Joseph and Jordan).  While, Ok, Gail who does all the children’s activities really did most of the work, but the kids did the taking orders, serving, taking money, some setting up and cleaning up, etc… it was very fun.  They wanted to do it every weekend.  Not quite sure they understood how much work it was!

The little workers.

Counting their money!  To be donated to a charity of their choice.
