A day with Grandpa Bernie

IMG_0835

The last Saturday of June grandpa Bernie came up with an idea for an outing.  Joseph and I were both a little tired out from a busy week and not sure of the plan, but decided to see what it was all about.  Plus Bernie had been such a help to us this summer, watching Joseph lots and helping on the new house every weekend.  He planned out a whole day for us, starting with a scenic drive to Ausable Chasm in NY.

We started with a picnic lunch.

And then hit the trails.  It’s a little hard to tell but Joseph is using the map here and leading the way.

We hiked for about two miles along the river and it just got more and more beautiful!

I know the pictures are a little repetitive, but I just think it is so beautiful!

On the trolley back.  We did manage to get a little lost and caught in the rain—all part of a good adventure!

After our ferry ride we enjoyed some Burger Kind (Joseph’s pic)  and then spent some time at Home Depot picking up some sheet-rocking tools for Brad.  It was such a fun day!

What a nice day you had.

I went there, too, when I was a child.
